Term 2 goals

Hi! Today I will share my term 2  goals and why I choose them.

  • Make more use of my time

Why? I feel like I have a lot of free time that I can use but didn't really use last term so this term I'm gonna try and make more use of my time.

  • Finish my work early

Why? Last term I waited last minute to finish and hand in my work sometime I went over the due date and this term I want to change that.

  • Listen and focus more
Why? Well sometimes I completely zone out and block out whatever  the instruction were so I'd get confused.

And that's all for this term.
What are your goals this term?

Speech introduction

Hi! This term we're writing our speeches. My speech is about Racial discrimination and stereotypes. This is my introduction,
Racial discrimination. David Taylor said in his poem, Racism? There is just one human race, no matter what form of the face.

Imagine doing everyday things like watering plants or walking in a park but then someone or your neighbours call the cops on you just because of your skin colour and where you’re from. Well that’s the case for a lot of people of colour all over the world.

Well that's what I got so far.
Are you doing a speech? If you are what is it about?

How can we stand up to discrimination?

Hi! Our PBL driving question this term is "How can we stand up to discrimination?".
I'll be answering some of our sub questions,

What is discrimination?
Discrimination is insulting other people by how they look or their gender. There are different types of discrimination but these are the most common types of discrimination racism, sexism, ableism and religious discrimination.

What does it mean to speak up?
I think speaking up means that you don't just watch something happen but you so something or speak up for a person.

What does an up stander do?
A up stander is the opposite of a bystander. An up-stander stands up and does something about a situation instead of just watching the scene unfold.

What are stereotypes or bias?
Stereotypes are what people assume you do or look like based on your gender, race, abilities and religion.

What are the different types of discrimination?
These are the most common types of discrimination. Sexism (discriminating people by their gender), racism (discriminating people by their race and where they come from), ableism (discriminating people by what they can't do and their disabilities) and religious discrimination (discrimination people by their religion and their beliefs).

How do you think we can stand up to discrimination?

Our school values

Our school values
Service
service is about doing things to help out without expecting anything in return. Like people carry their things and other small kind deeds.

Integrity
Integrity is about being honest and having nice and good qualities in your personality. like being nice and having respect.

compassion
compassion is feeling and understanding other people's pain ans feelings and trying to make them feel better about the situation.

Respect
respecting someone means that you accept their ideas and not judge them for their beliefs, life style, looks etc. Being respectful also means you use kind words and manners like saying please and thank you.

How can you show these values in your everyday life?

PBL digi awards!

PBL
Hey everyone! Our PBL driving question this term was "What is greatness?". This past week we had our Digi awards. We had to make a digital project that went around with our driving question. Cleo and I decided to make a stop motion about the first people on mars. We were inspired by Opportunity the mars rover. Digi awards night was fun because we finally got to show case all the work we did for most of the term.
Here is our Digi awards project:

What do I think Greatness is?
I think Greatness isn't about being famous or popular I think Greatness is about trying your best in everything you do, you might not be good at it but it's better to participate than do nothing. A pert of Greatness is also kindness, kindness make our world a better place and a small act of kindness can cause a ripple effect around you.

What do you think Greatness is?

Why Pluto needs to be a planet again

Hi humans it's Sam again to give you reasons (i'm looking at you NASA) why Pluto needs to be a planet again.

Reason 1:Because it passes all of the requirements except for one. ONE.
I mean come on. and the reason was because it hasn't cleared it's ways I guess from asteroids? but I mean were not planning to go there yet.

Reason 2: Because PLUTO has FeELInGs
Pluto looks like it has a heart I mean come on look at the picture of Pluto above.
